Face Your Fear of Fractions, Vol. 1

Fractions are scary for way too many of us. Our fear is likely rooted in how fractions were presented to us. All too often, teachers are equally afraid of fractions and their feelings rub off on us. The same is true for our parents. If they ran for the hills when fractions were mentioned, we were right behind them. The reality is, fractions are all around us. Don't become anxious when fractions are mentioned; build your capacity now. We can do more when we understand more.

This 9 minute course is an introduction to fractions. In this video, I discuss the relationship between [unit] fractions and whole numbers, a well as how to add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators. At the end of this series, you should be proficient in performing all 4 operations [add, subtract, multiply, divide] with fractions.
